With the rapid growth of population, one of the major issue is with the increase in vehicular percentage and the harmful emission affecting our environment. Therefore, EV is a great initiative towards our environment. All the countries are moving towards the adaptation of EVs and India is one of them. Still there are some constraints, which are affecting the EV adaptation and need to be discuss. Consumption of large amount of fuel results harmful gases emission (greenhouse gas) and it is a major problem now days. As India is the initial stage of the EV adaptation so, I am trying to understand the EV and its policy in Indian context with respect to the foreign policies. The major gap in Indian and foreign countries in EV is the infrastructure gap. It is also the major challenge for many countries, which needs to be minimise. The understanding of the EV and its component can help me out to study the present scenario and the various approaches that has been taken the Government of India as well. Then my next step towards my study area is to understand the status of EV adoption as well as the public approach in it. Through various surveys and available sources of data, I can be able to access the factors influencing the study from different scenarios and the factors affecting my study area will help me to find out the gap. At last, based on the present scenario I can propose some suggestions and proposals to increase the demand EV in present and near future. Especially in large cities, which are causing major vehicular emissions due to huge vehicular movements due to large number of vehicle holding capacity. Bhubaneswar is the capital of Odisha and it has a population of more than one million and large number of vehicle percentage. The number of vehicles in Bhubaneswar have increased almost 3 times from last 2004 to in 2014 and four wheelers hold 22% of mode share. As per OSPCB (2016) data, the PM10 level in the city is in between 120-230 micro gram per metre cube whereas permissible limit is 100 micro gram. The vehicle accounts for 40% of pollution. |
